Binding the Drop Button
I did a forum search, so forgive me if this was already mentioned in some remote dusty corner of the website...
But I think the game would greatly benefit from the option to bind the Drop Button to a key on the keyboard. I never really thought of it before I created my Ritualist, but so many times I'm concentrating intensely...and right when I go to drop my ashes, I do a catastrophic thing.
I move the mouse pointer.
It's no longer on the wonderful DROP button provided right above my health bar. I die, and mourn what could have been, had I not needed to reposition my cursor. Even in the Sunjiand District, both I (on my elementalist, carrying the urn because he's a very squishy target) and the other object-carrier observed how difficult the picking-up-and-dropping was.
There's a key to pick up the nearest item. Why not one to drop the bundle you're carrying? This, of course, only applies to quest bundles and ashes, not weapons and offhands. I think me and many other Ritualist players would appreciate it.
Any comments?

I don't think it has been suggested before. It's a good idea in any case, now that we have the ritualist. The question is, which key? The left hand pretty much has a handful, and the right is your mouse hand (assuming you're on the right-handed configuration).

IMO, its the same as releasing maintained enchantments. If your going to make it easier for the Rits to drop items, set up a system to where you don't have to double-click a maintained enchantment to cancel it as well.

Not a bind, but you can actually just hit the F1 (or whatever weapon set you are using) and you will drop what you are holding.

In the control setup window, look under Targeting. It should be right below Targeting: Foe - Previous. It gives you the options to target the nearest, next, and previous items. Hope that helps .

Theres no button to 'pick up nearest item'. That would be a combination of ";" and "spacebar" instead

True. The 'Do It' button is sorta squished into the instruction. Yes, it's targeting, not immediately picking up, but it's no doubt useful. Sorry, I didn't remember the default for it, since I've fiddled a lot with my setup.

You could also adjust the size and the make the button more square shaped - less chance of missing it in the midst of action.

I wish an option to modify these small buttons of enchantments, which I used(Mending, Watchful spirit).
BTW - totally great idea - /signed by flag runner ^^

Perhaps I'm just a hopless klutz who shouldn't be playing Video games, then . My main problem is simply switching from keyboard to mouse fluidly. My drop button would have to be approximately half the size of my screen if I wanted to avoid the end problem.
If not many people decide it's useful, then hey . I just saw a suggestion forum and said, "Hey, why not. Maybe there are other people who've had this thought, too."

There's your answer, in post #5 - since the discussion is still going on, I guess it was missed. I can confirm that this works as well, if confirmation was what you needed!

Yup, this is definately a good option, and it's what I've resorted to using. Still don't think a drop button'd hurt, for other circumstances, but it's definately a handy alternative. Since I'm silly and didn't make note of the fact that I HAD acknowleged the working status of the weapons-thingie.
